The wash removes the dirt, everyday grime, odour and build-up that can interfere with a clean-smelling coat, while its 2-in-1 format helps leave the fur feeling soft, refreshed and ready for the final fragrance step.
And because fragrance is at the heart of BB Fragrances, the shampoo isn't treated as an afterthought.

HOW TO USE
Wet the coat thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Apply Clarifying Wash and gently massage through the coat to create a lather, working from the body through the legs and tail while avoiding the face, eyes and inside of the ears.
Pay particular attention to areas where dirt and odour tend to accumulate.
Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear and no shampoo remains in the coat.
Repeat the wash if required.
Towel dry and groom as usual.
Once the coat is completely dry, finish with the matching BB Hound Fragrance for the complete scent-layering ritual.

Do not allow your dog to ingest the product.

What does “Clarifying Wash” mean?
A clarifying shampoo is designed to give the coat a more thorough cleanse, helping remove accumulated dirt, odour and everyday build-up.
For BB Fragrances, that clean foundation also serves another purpose: better scent layering.
Rather than attempting to cover an unclean coat with fragrance, the Clarifying Wash resets the coat first before the matching Hound Fragrance is applied after drying.
Why is it a 2-in-1 shampoo?
Our Clarifying Wash combines cleansing and conditioning within one wash, simplifying the grooming routine while helping leave the coat clean, soft and manageable.
It means fewer steps at bath time and a beautifully prepared coat for brushing and fragrance.
Do I need to use the matching Hound Fragrance?
No.
Each shampoo is fragranced in its own right and can be used alone.
But if you love the scent, pairing it with the matching Hound Fragrance creates the complete BB fragrance experience.
The shampoo introduces the scent lightly during bathing.
The post-wash fragrance then amplifies that same fragrance profile and provides greater longevity on the coat.
Can I mix different shampoo and fragrance scents?
You can, but for the most refined fragrance experience we recommend matching like with like.
Using Courageux Clarifying Wash with Courageux Hound Fragrance, for example, allows the fragrance to develop as intended without competing notes.
If you enjoy experimenting with fragrance, different combinations can of course create a more individual result.
When should I apply the Hound Fragrance?
Once your dog's coat is clean and completely dry.
Lightly apply the matching Hound Fragrance according to its directions, avoiding the face and other sensitive areas.
Is the shampoo fragrance the same as the Dog Fragrance?
It shares the same signature fragrance profile and scent identity, allowing the products to work together as a layering system.
The way a fragrance presents within a rinse-off shampoo will naturally differ from the way it behaves in a leave-on Hound Fragrance, but both are designed to smell recognisably and cohesively like the same scent.
Does the shampoo replace Dog Fragrance?
They perform different roles.
Clarifying Wash cleanses, conditions and introduces fragrance.
