The Fragrance
Tranquille begins with the clean brightness of Italian bergamot.
Palmarosa introduces a soft freshness before French lavender and clary sage begin to form the aromatic heart.
The herbs remain diffused rather than sharp, giving the fragrance its fresh-linen character without smelling traditionally medicinal.
Frankincense introduces subtle resinous warmth while cedarwood provides a dry, grounding finish.
There is an intentional quietness to Tranquille.

Tranquille was composed around the relationship between freshness and stillness.
Italian bergamot creates brightness at the opening while palmarosa softens the transition into the aromatic centre.

A Note on Essential Oils + Botanicals
Seeing materials such as bergamot, lavender, clary sage or frankincense in a fragrance pyramid can understandably lead to questions about dogs and essential oils.
There is an important distinction.
Our fragrance notes describe the olfactive architecture of the finished fragrance. They should not be interpreted as instructions to apply those individual ingredients — or neat essential oils — directly to a dog.
Where botanical and essential-oil materials are used, they form part of a finished, diluted Hound Fragrance formulation designed for its intended application.
Where bergamot is used within our Hound Fragrances, we use Bergamot FCF.
We never recommend applying neat essential oils directly to your dog.
Aromatherapy, Without the Wellness Claims
Our Aromatherapy Collection takes its inspiration from aromatic botanicals and naturally evocative scent profiles.
It does not mean that the fragrances are intended to diagnose, treat, calm anxiety or provide a veterinary or therapeutic outcome.
Courageux, Fleur and Tranquille are fragrance products.
Their aromatic profiles may evoke feelings such as freshness, serenity or groundedness for the person experiencing them, but we deliberately avoid turning beautiful fragrance into an unsupported medical claim.
I think this paragraph is particularly valuable for BB because it makes the brand sound considerably more knowledgeable and responsible.
How to Use
For best results, use on a clean, dry coat.
Mist lightly over the dog's back and body from approximately 20–30cm away, avoiding the head and face.
Begin with a small amount — particularly for smaller dogs — and build only if required.
Allow the fragrance to settle naturally into the coat. Brush gently through the fur if desired to help distribute the fragrance.
For dogs who dislike the sound or sensation of a spray bottle, lightly mist a grooming brush away from your dog before gently brushing through the coat.
A little goes a long way.

Where Not to Spray
Do not spray directly onto the face, eyes, nose, mouth, inside the ears or genital area.
Do not use on broken, inflamed or irritated skin.
Avoid saturating the coat.
Hound Fragrance is designed to add fragrance to a dog's grooming routine — it is not designed to mask an ongoing skin, ear, dental or coat condition that may require veterinary attention.
Sensitive Hounds
Just like humans, individual dogs can have sensitivities to cosmetic and grooming products.
When introducing any new product, use a small amount initially and observe your dog and their skin.
Discontinue use if irritation or an unexpected reaction occurs.
If your dog has an existing skin condition, known sensitivities or is currently under veterinary care for a dermatological issue, speak with your veterinarian before introducing a new grooming product.

BB Fragrances Hound Fragrances have been specifically formulated as dog grooming fragrances, rather than using a conventional alcohol-based Eau de Parfum formula.
They are water-based and alcohol-free and are intended to be applied lightly to the coat according to the directions provided.
As with any grooming or cosmetic product, individual sensitivities can occur, so we recommend introducing the fragrance gradually and discontinuing use if irritation develops.
Is this just human perfume for dogs?
No.
This distinction should be one of the most important messages on the website.
