BB Fragrances began with a simple idea: fragrance for dogs didn't need to smell like a typical pet product.

Our Hound Fragrances are custom formulations, blended exclusively for Bug & Bun by By Luis. Scent Design, our Melbourne in-house perfumery and custom scent studio.

Each scent moves beyond a single-note "dog cologne" into a layered composition of top, heart and base notes designed to evolve after application, just like an Eau de Parfum.

All of our Dog Fragrances are water-based, alcohol-free formulations made specifically for hounds and can be used on a dry coat after bathing or between washes, whenever the coat needs a refresh.

A finishing touch for the hound who is very much part of the home.

Ingredients

Aqua (Water), Sorbitan Oleate Decylglucoside Crosspolymer*,
Parfum (Fragrance), Sorbitan Caprylate (and) Propanediol (and) Benzoic Acid.

*A solubiliser made from plant-derived components that keeps your Dog Fragrance mixed and disperses consistently. Without it, the water and oil components would not blend together. It's the same type of emulsifier found in many commercial dog shampoos and conditioners.

About our fragrance: Every BB Fragrance is our own formulation, developed and blended in-house.

Saffron Nights is a blend of fine fragrance materials, essential oils, and natural botanicals, including Vanilla planifolia (Vanilla) fruit extract, Boswellia carterii (Frankincense) oil, Piper nigrum (Black Pepper) fruit oil.

Saffron Nights was inspired by the kind of evening that asks nothing of you.

A cold night outside. A dimly lit room warmed by firelight. Jazz turning slowly on vinyl, something dark poured into a glass, and nowhere else you need to be,

Amber, vanilla and honey round the fragrance beneath black pepper, sweet orange, leather, and jasmine, while incense provides the final atmospheric detail.

The result is deliberately sophisticated — proof that fragrance created for dogs does not need to smell like traditional pet grooming products.

The questions we get asked

What makes the Signature Collection different?

The Signature Collection brings the character of fine fragrance into hound grooming. Each scent has been created by a perfumer with layered top, heart and base notes, giving the fragrances more depth, complexity and personality than a conventional dog spray.

Will my dog smell like traditional “pet perfume”?

That is exactly what the Signature Collection was designed to move away from. These are sophisticated, perfumer-created scent profiles inspired by contemporary fragrance rather than the sweet, powdery or heavily deodorising character often associated with pet sprays.

Is the formula alcohol-free?

Yes. Our Hound Fragrances use a water-based, alcohol-free formula designed for use on the coat. They are also vegan and cruelty-free.

How long does the scent last?

Depending on coat type, activity and application, fragrance can remain noticeable for up to approximately three days. The scent will naturally soften over time, leaving a more subtle trace on the coat.

Is it too strong for everyday use?

You control the intensity through application. A light mist gives the coat a subtle fragrance, while a few additional sprays create more noticeable scent. You do not need to saturate the coat.

Can I layer it with the matching shampoo?

Yes. Using the matching Signature Collection 2-in-1 Hound Shampoo first creates a beautifully cohesive fragrance experience, with Hound Fragrance used afterwards to enhance and extend the scent.

Is this essentially human perfume for dogs?

No. While the style of the fragrance takes inspiration from fine perfumery, the product itself is a dedicated Hound Fragrance with a water-based, alcohol-free formula. Human perfumes should not be substituted for products specifically intended for hound grooming.
