Lemon and lime create a crisp opening, sharpened by black pepper. Freesia, cardamom and sweet orange broaden the centre before warm sandalwood, lemongrass and frankincense give the fragrance texture and persistence.

The result is clean without becoming sterile, coastal without becoming conventionally aquatic and polished without becoming formal.

THE SCENT

“The challenge was making freshness feel textural rather than fleeting.”

Citrus disappears quickly by nature, so I wanted to build something underneath it that allowed the sensation of freshness to continue.

Lemon and lime create the first flash of brightness, while black pepper introduces dryness and definition. Cardamom and florals expand the heart before sandalwood and frankincense begin warming the fragrance against skin.

The inspiration was cool air meeting sun-warmed skin — open, effortless and quietly transportive.

Portafino N0.9 imagines a coastal destination rather than recreating a literal one.

The N0.9 gives the fragrance the feeling of a perfumer’s archived formula — one entry from an imagined collection of places captured through scent.

Formerly Voyager, it is less about travelling somewhere and more about the feeling of having arrived.
