"When I created Fleur, my goal was to capture a feeling—something undeniably romantic, intimate, and softly radiant.

I kept returning to the image of a rose garden at dawn, where the earth is bathed in golden light and the first warmth of the sun begins to draw out the scent of the blooms.

It’s that fleeting moment between night and day, when the day feels new and full of promise.

Bergamot opens the scent with a soft, sparkling brightness—reflecting the sunlight filtering through leaves—lifting the rose and inviting you in.

CANDLE TIPS & SAFETY

At Bug & Bun for Home, your safety is our top priority. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience with our candles, we recommend you follow these guidelines:

• Trim the Wick Before Each Use

Before lighting your candle, trim the wick to approximately 6mm. This helps prevent excessive soot and controls the flame size, promoting a cleaner and longer burn.

• Limit Burn Sessions to Three Hours

Avoid burning your candle for more than three hours at a time. Extended burning can cause the vessel to become excessively hot, posing a safety risk.

• Discontinue Use When 10mm of Wax Remains

Stop using the candle when about 10mm of wax is left at the bottom. Continuing to burn beyond this point can lead to overheating of the container.

• Use a Stable, Heat-Resistant Surface

Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts and flammable objects. This prevents accidental tipping and reduces the risk of fire.

• Maintain Safe Distance Between Multiple Candles

If burning multiple candles, space them at least 10cm apart. This ensures they don't affect each other's burn quality and reduces the risk of overheating.

• Never Leave a Burning Candle Unattended

Always extinguish candles when leaving a room or before going to sleep. Keep them out of reach of children and pets to prevent accidents.

• Allow the Wax Pool to Reach the Edge

During each burn, let the melted wax reach the edge of the vessel. This prevents tunnelling and promotes an even burn throughout the candle's life.

• Extinguish with Care

Use a snuffer or gently blow out the flame to avoid splattering wax. Avoid using the lid or any liquid to extinguish the candle.

Yes, this Fleur candle is made using 100% natural eco soy wax and vet-approved, dog-safe essential oils to ensure a clean and safe burn.

All of our candles are also bio-degradable and DO NOT CONTAIN any palm or paraffin products.

Yes, all our candles are cruelty-free and do not contain any animal by-products, making them vegan-friendly.

Our Fleur candle is designed specifically for use around humans and dogs, and is made with dog-safe essential oils and natural soy wax.

While burning, we recommend supervising dog(s) as some animals to avoid accidents such as knocking over the candle jar while unattended.

Our Fleur candle is formulated with humans and dogs in mind and has not undergone specific testing for use around cats or other small household animals. With this in mind, use at your own discretion.

Burn times vary depending on the size and shape of the candle vessel. For our 285g candles, we recommend no longer than four hours at any one time.

We also strongly recommend that you avoid burning any candle in a drafty area, or near curtains and loose fabrics. Always keep candle wax free of debris.

All of our candles are hand-poured and are made using essential oils and 100% natural soy wax.

Due to the nature of natural ingredients and slight changes in colour and consistency from batch to batch, changes in product appearance can occur.

These aesthetic variations will not interfere with the candle itself and is simply part of the process when using raw, natural ingredients.

We recommend storing all of our candles in a cool, dry place away from direct heat or sunlight. Store below 25° to prevent discolouration and maintain scent integrity.

To maximise burn time, we recommend trimming your candle wick to 1/4 inch before each use.

Untrimmed wicks often cause smoke and darken the inside of your candle jar. If you notice smoke during burning, extinguish the candle, trim the wick and relight when it is safe to do so.

There are many ways to put out your candle including; blowing gently on the wick, using trimming scissors, or utilising a candle sniffer. Do not simply place the lid on top to extinguish.

Our glass candle jars can be simply washed and reused throughout the home, either as a small vase or vessel.

If you want to dispose of your candle vessel, we recommend placing in your recycling bin or dropping it to one of our Melbourne-based outlets.
