BB Fragrances began with a simple idea: fragrance for dogs didn't need to smell like a typical pet product.

Our Hound Fragrances are custom formulations, blended exclusively for Bug & Bun by By Luis. Scent Design, our Melbourne in-house perfumery and custom scent studio.

Each scent moves beyond a single-note "dog cologne" into a layered composition of top, heart and base notes designed to evolve after application, just like an Eau de Parfum.

All of our Dog Fragrances are water-based, alcohol-free formulations made specifically for hounds and can be used on a dry coat after bathing or between washes, whenever the coat needs a refresh.

A finishing touch for the hound who is very much part of the home.

*A solubiliser made from plant-derived components that keeps your Dog Fragrance mixed and disperses consistently. Without it, the water and oil components would not blend together. It's the same type of emulsifier found in many commercial dog shampoos and conditioners.

Composed by a perfumer, for a household with a dog in it

Tranquille was composed around the relationship between freshness and stillness.

Italian bergamot creates brightness at the opening while palmarosa softens the transition into the aromatic centre. French lavender provides familiarity and softness. Clary sage introduces a slightly drier herbal dimension. Frankincense and cedarwood then anchor the fragrance underneath.

Tranquille is olfactively calming in character, but it is important to distinguish fragrance experience from therapeutic effect: it has been created as a beautifully aromatic grooming fragrance, not as a veterinary treatment or behavioural remedy.

Is the fragrance alcohol-free?

Yes. Our Hound Fragrances are made with a water-based, alcohol-free formula specifically developed for use as a dog fragrance. They are also vegan and cruelty-free.

How long does the fragrance last?

Our Hound Fragrances can stay noticeable for up to about three days, and longevity varies by hound depending on coat type, activity, bathing, weather, and how much product you apply. For a softer scent, use just a few sprays; for more presence, refresh the fragrance as needed.

How strong will it smell on my dog?

The Aromatherapy Inspired Collection is designed to sit closer to the coat without overwhelming it. Expect a softer, botanical fragrance that becomes part of your hound’s freshly groomed scent rather than smelling like a heavily applied human perfume.

Can I use it after bathing?

Absolutely. Our Dog Fragrances are ideal as the finishing step after washing and drying your hound. For the most cohesive scent experience, pair it with the matching 2-in-1 Hound Shampoo. For maximum scent throw, spray on dry fur.

My dog is sensitive to fragrance. Should I still use it?

Every hound is different. If your dog is particularly sensitive to fragrance or has a history of skin sensitivities, speak with your veterinarian before introducing any new grooming product.
