CANDLE TIPS & SAFETY

At Bug & Bun for Home, your safety is our top priority. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience with our candles, we recommend you follow these guidelines:

• Trim the Wick Before Each Use

Before lighting your candle, trim the wick to approximately 6mm. This helps prevent excessive soot and controls the flame size, promoting a cleaner and longer burn.

• Limit Burn Sessions to Three Hours

Avoid burning your candle for more than three hours at a time. Extended burning can cause the vessel to become excessively hot, posing a safety risk.

• Discontinue Use When 10mm of Wax Remains

Stop using the candle when about 10mm of wax is left at the bottom. Continuing to burn beyond this point can lead to overheating of the container.

• Use a Stable, Heat-Resistant Surface

Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts and flammable objects. This prevents accidental tipping and reduces the risk of fire.

• Maintain Safe Distance Between Multiple Candles

If burning multiple candles, space them at least 10cm apart. This ensures they don't affect each other's burn quality and reduces the risk of overheating.

• Never Leave a Burning Candle Unattended

Always extinguish candles when leaving a room or before going to sleep. Keep them out of reach of children and pets to prevent accidents.

• Allow the Wax Pool to Reach the Edge

During each burn, let the melted wax reach the edge of the vessel. This prevents tunnelling and promotes an even burn throughout the candle's life.

• Extinguish with Care

Use a snuffer or gently blow out the flame to avoid splattering wax. Avoid using the lid or any liquid to extinguish the candle.
